WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Are you or is someone you know holding on to a lottery ticket you might have purchased back in December?
Maybe you have some old lottery tickets lying around the house?
You’ll want to check them because the Virginia Lottery says a $1 million top prize ticket from the Virginia New Year’s Millionaire Raffle is set to expire on July 1.
Ticket #092069 was purchased at a 7-Eleven store at 13304 Occoquan Road in Woodbridge. The winner has until 5 p.m. June 30 to claim the prize or the ticket will expire.
“This ticket was one of three million-dollar winners in the drawing. The other two were claimed within a week of the drawing by John Humphries of Danville and Amy Lloyd of Martinsburg, WV. In addition to the three $1 million prizes, the Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle had six $25,000 winners and 300 $500 winners,” a lottery press release stated.
If the prize is not claimed, Virginia’s Literary Fund will become $1 million richer. All unclaimed cash prizes go to the fund established to pay for technology upgrades in schools as well as funding teacher pensions.
