Police: Man Stopped for Traffic Offense, Runs Away

WOODBRIDGE,Va — Woodbridge man, stopped for traffic offense, fled on foot say police.

On August 21st at 1:20AM, a Prince William County police officer stopped a vehicle in the 14000 block of Telegraph Rd in Woodbridge (22192) for a traffic related offense.

During the stop, the officer learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen by another law enforcement agency in July. As the officer was attempting to arrest the driver, he pushed off of the vehicle causing the officer to step backwards. At that point, the accused fled on foot.

A police K-9 was called to assist in the search for the man. During a search of the vehicle, officers further learned that the driver had provided them with a false identity and also located multiple baggies of suspected marijuana. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants against the accused.

Wanted for reckless driving, possession of stolen property, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, driving on a revoked license, escape with force, and providing false identification to law enforcement
