Walter Franklin Paige, 65, died at 8:55 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2013 at Prince William Medical Center in Manassas ending a hard fought battle with cancer.
Walter, known to family and friends by the nickname, “Bunny,” was born May 30, 1948 in Catharpin, Virginia and was a lifelong resident of Prince William County. He grew up in Catharpin and attended Anitoch-McCrae Elementary School and Jennie Dean High School. He worked 30 years in plant operations and custodial services serving schools in Fairfax County, before retiring with meritorious service in October 1998.
He is survived by his sister, Frances Paige, Manassas, VA; four nieces, Vonda Paige, Los Angeles, CA; Ylanda Paige, Woodbridge, VA; Trina Paige Whatley, Chicago, IL; and Tisha Paige White, Culpeper, VA. Survivors also include four nephews, Reginald Paige, Manassas, VA; John Paige, Largo, MD; Quentin Paige, Largo, MD; Detrick Paige, Marlo Heights; and a godson, Joshua Paige; two sisters-in-law Stella Paige, Suitland, MD and Alberta Paige, Culpeper, VA and numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Paige, and two brothers, Robert “Bobby” Daniel Paige and John “Butch” Paige.
