Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS) will host a job fair at its administrative office in Oakton to fill five full-time Health Navigator positions on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Candidates with a background or interest in health and/or social services are encouraged to attend.
At 9:30 and 11:00 a.m., the job fair will feature informational sessions to inform interested candidates about the important role of the Health Navigator under the Affordable Care Act. Starting Oct. 1, the Health Care Marketplace will be available to the public, allowing access to affordable health care options. Health Navigators will be responsible for assisting Northern Virginia consumers in the Health Insurance Marketplace as part of the Affordable Care Act.
The core functions of this role are to provide outreach, education, and enrollment assistance to individuals and small businesses eligible to enroll in the Marketplace. Training and certification will be required within the first two weeks of hire. The Heath Navigators positions are contingent upon grant funding.
The event is free and open to the community. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s in Health or Social Services and should come prepared with a resume. On-site interviews may be scheduled during the job fair, and applicants are encouraged to dress professionally. NVFS is located at 10455 White Granite Drive, Oakton, VA 22124.
