William Burton Overholt, 76, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the home of his daughter, Abbie Hale. He was the husband of the late Ingrid Wagner Overholt.
Born June 17, 1937 in Kalamazoo, MI, he was the son of the late William Burton Overholt and Evelyn Ryerson Locke. Mr. Overholt was retired from the U.S. Army, where he honorably served his country during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his daughter, Mr. Overholt is survived by two brothers, George Kloosterhouse and David Locke and wife Dawn, all of Florida, sister Karen Locke of Michigan; three grandchildren, Mary Brewster (George) of Manassas, William Hale of Arlington, and Steven Hale (Amber Shaffner) of Alexandria; ten great-grandchildren, Allison Brewster, George Brewster, Jr., Stephanie Hale, Jake Hale, Jeremy Brewster, Samantha Shriver, Keegan Hale, McKenzie Hale, Bristol Hale, and Savannah Hale and three great-great-grandchildren, Ella Thodos, Madisen Thodos, and George Brewster, III.
A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, July 25, 2013 at Quantico National Cemetery with the Rev. Marilynn Mattox officiating.
