Falmouth Park Closed as More Rain Headed Our Way

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — Water levels are rising at the Historic Port of Falmouth in Stafford County today. Because of that, the park along the Rappahannock River has been closed to the public until further notice.

It comes as another round of drenching rains are expected to fall today. The National Weather Service issued a flood watch for the entire region through this evening.

Lots of us woke up to a soggy start after heavy rains fell overnight. More downpours are expected later this morning into early afternoon, and then even more rain could fall later this evening.

When it’s all said and done, up to three inches of rain could fall across the region today, according to the weather service.
