DUMFRIES, Va. – It’s an annual Memorial Day tradition in Dumfries – bikers gather at East Coast Harley Davidson prior to their ride to the Pentagon to honor fallen veterans.
Bikers gathered at the bike shop just after 7 a.m. Today. It was part of a three-day open house in honor of Memorial Day.
The annual bike ride, Rolling Thunder, has attracted thousands of riders since its inception in 1988.
After leaving Dumfries the bikers take a parade route throughout eastern Prince William County, enter Interstate 95, and then use the HOV lanes to travel to the Pentagon. Bystanders with U.S. Flags gather on overpasses to waive at the bikers below.
