LAKE RIDGE, Va. — Police are on the scene of an armed robbery this morning in at a check cashing store in Lake Ridge.
A masked man walked into a Cashpoint store at 1391 Old Bridge Road, showed a handgun, and made off with cash, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.
No one was injured in the robbery. Police have swarmed the area, and residents and businesses owners in the area can expect a heavy police presence throughout the day as officers search for a suspect. Nearby Occoquan Elementary School is on lockdown as police conduct their search.
The man was described as black, thin, 5 foot 8 inches tall, with a green hooded sweatshirt, light blue jeans, and was wearing a mask, said Perok.
