3 Nabbed in Dale City Burglary

DALE CITY, Va. — With the help of a neighbor, the stolen property of a woman who was away from her home on vacation has been recovered by police.

The burglary victim who lives in the 13300 block of Kerrydale Road in Dale City called police April 19 after returning home from a trip. After she was away for four days, the woman told police jewelry, a game system, laptop, and firearm were all missing from her home.

Police then questioned neighbors, and one of them said they remembered seeing a man and woman going into the home the day before, according to police.

Officers went back and remembered an unrelated traffic stop that had taken place prior to the burglary being reported to police. Detectives later found two suspects on April 21 at a home on nearby Kendale Court, police stated.

It was there that 24-year-old Matthew Lincoln Redding, of 14316 South River Road in Woodbridge, and 27-year-old Ashley Nichole Milstead, of 13103 Kendale Court were arrested. Both are charged with burglary and grand larceny, and Redding also faces charges of proving false information to police and grand larceny of a firearm.

It was later learned someone else had obtained stolen property from Redding, said police, and a third suspect was arrested on Monday.

Brian Christopher Richardson, 21, of 1522 Florida Avenue in Woodbridge, is charged with receiving stolen goods and a stolen firearm, police stated.

All three are scheduled to appear in court on June 19.
