Charges Filed in Rape, Robberies

MANASSAS, Va. — Police in Prince William County arrested a 17-year-old in connection to the rape of a Herndon woman, and tied him to two robberies.

Rape | Abduction *ARREST – On April 2nd, following an extensive investigation, detectives from the Special Victim’s Unit and Robbery Unit identified the suspect involved in the rape and abduction incident which was reported to have occurred in the area of Maplewood Dr and Peakwood Ct in Manassas on March 28th.

The accused is a juvenile and was taken into custody by Prince William County police officers and members of the Northern Virginia Gang Task Force at his residence in Manassas. A search warrant was also executed without incident at the suspect’s address. During the rape incident from March 28th, the accused took the victim’s cell phone and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing the area.

Detectives further learned that the suspect involved in the rape incident was also responsible for the robbery and the attempted robbery of the Maplewood Barbershop from March 1st and March 28th. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with multiple offenses relating to these three cases.

Charged with [in reference to the Maplewood Barbershop robbery from March 1st] robbery and using a firearm in commission of a felony
