PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — The window to apply to be considered as the next Woodbridge representative on the Prince William County School Board is closing.

Interested applicants have until 4:30 p.m. Dec. 14 to file the correct paperwork to be considered for appointment to the eight-member Board that governs the county’s public school system. Completed applications must be emailed or delivered to the Prince William County Public Schools Headquarters at Independent Hill.

A public hearing will be held Dec. 19 at the School Board’s Chambers, and only the names received by the Dec. 14 deadline will be considered for appointment to the Board on Jan. 2, according to documents from the school system. Sitting members of the School Board are expected to appoint a new Woodbridge representative at this time.

All applicants for the job must live in the Woodbridge Magisterial District.

The need to appoint a newWoodbridge District Representative to the School Board comes after Denita Ramirez handed in her resignation on Nov. 7 – one day after the November General Election that saw the election of Occoquan District Representative Lillie Jessie.

Prior to the Dec. 19 meeting, the School Board is set to hold it’s regular meeting on Dec. 5, and a disciplinary hearing on Dec. 18 where up to four cases are expected to heard by board officials.
