Dumfries Farmers Market Expanding

DUMFRIES, Va. — A fledgling farmers market in Dumfries is doing well and plans to expand.

The town’s farmers market began July 14 and has been held in the parking lot of Town Hall on Main Street each Saturday since, between 8 a.m. and noon, will expand an extra hour staring this week.

On Saturday, the market will close at 1 p.m. Vendors at the market have told PotomacLocal.com they support a later end time for the market, which would bring in more business for them.

“Thank you to everyone for supporting the Market and making the initiative a success,” the town’s Facebook page stated.

The market began with about four produce vendors, a barbeque vendor, and a bread vendor. It runs until Oct. 27.
