OCCOQUAN, Va. — On Sunday, runners descended on Occoquan for the first-ever Race to Donate Life 5K.

The first runner to cross the finish line, #624, with an unofficial time was 23:36.
Occoquan Mayor Earnie Porta gives some last-minute comments before sounding the air horn to start the "Race to Donate Life." The 5K run was held in Occoquan Sunday morning to raise awareness for the need of organ, eye and tissue donation.
