Dale City, Va. –– An 11-year-old girl has become the victim of rape.
Police were called to the 3300 block of Beaumont Road in Dale City at 5:33 p.m. Wednesday where they found the child had been sexually assaulted by a known acquaintance, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.
An investigation showed the child has been repeatedly raped since February, police say.
The child’s family became aware of assault on Wednesday and then called police.
The victim was treated at a local hospital for injuries.
The suspect was found later Wednesday night and was arrested.
Wilber Antonio Jovel, 29, is charged with two counts of rape and was held without bond, said Perok.
