Lorton man’s murder charge spurs death penalty debate

There’s talk in West Virginia about reinstating the death penalty for a Lorton man accused of killing a mother and her child.

Authorities in that state charged last June charged 34-year-old Antonio “Tone” Prophet with first degree murder.

He was accused after a 22-year-old woman was found to have her throat cut, and her body and the body of her son were found in an apartment.

In light of the slayings, West Virginia legislators are expected hear arguments today about reinstating the policy.
