Volunteer fire and rescue crews were busy Tuesday night as a truck overturned trapping its driver inside, and after a fire broke out at a home in Dale City.

Just before 9 p.m., a truck traveling in the area of Donald Curtis Drive and Carol Avenue in Woodbridge overturned.

The driver was trapped inside, and emergency crews had to remove both doors to the truck to pull him to safety, according to officials.

The victim was flown to an area hospital and his condition was not released.

Shortly afterward, a fire broke out at a two-story home in the 12500 block of Calexico Lane.

Crews arrived and found fire on both floors of the house.

Fire fighters began battling the blaze, containing it to the left side of the house and extinguishing it within five minutes, said Dale City Volunteer Fire Department spokesman Steve Chappell.

No one was injured in the blaze.

In addition to Dale City units, fire crews from Dumfries and Woodbridge were also called to assist in dousing the flames.
