Intruder grabs woman in home

Woodbridge, Va. –– A woman told police someone climbed through a window and grabbed her Sunday.

It happened at a home in the 1400 block of G Street in Woodbridge, near the St. Paul United Methodist Church at 5:39 a.m., police said.

The 36-year-old victim heard a noise, went to check it out and then saw her front door was ajar. She then saw someone opening a window in her living room, trying to get access to the house.

A man climbed halfway through the window and grabbed the woman, but she then struck the man several times with a lamp post which caused him to flee, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.

Based on the description of the man the victim provided, police are looking for a black male between the ages of 30 and 40-years-old, between 5 feet 9 and 5 feet 11 inches tall, 160 pounds, medium build, short black hair, and a small, neatly groomed mustache.

He was wearing a black straight brim baseball cap with a black emblem on it, and a black long sleeve hooded sweatshirt.
