(The Center Square) – Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares wants Google not to censor crisis pregnancy centers in search results in a pushback against Democratic lawmakers who have condemned them in recent weeks.
(The Center Square) – Virginia recorded a budget surplus of nearly $2 billion at the close of the fiscal year, which Gov. Glenn Youngkin believes is a sign taxpayers are forced to give too much money to the government.
“While I am pleased that our additional revenue can be reinvested in Virginia, the Commonwealth’s general fund revenue surplus confirms that Virginians have been overtaxed for way too long,” Youngkin said in a statement.

Don Scoggins, a retired Woodbridge resident is one of two new appointments to the Virginia Housing Authority.

(The Center Square) – Private and public colleges and universities in Virginia can receive up to $25 million to establish a plan and cover the initial startup costs of creating lab schools, under a state budget provision.
(The Center Square) – To push forward with his commitment to reduce Virginia’s regulatory burden by 25%, Gov. Glenn Youngkin is creating an office that will review existing regulations and expand regulatory transparency.
Youngkin signed Executive Order 19 to create the Office of Regulatory Management. This office will streamline the regulatory review process by subjecting agencies to its oversight. The executive order directs the new office to implement a 25% reduction in regulatory requirements.
