FREDERICKSBURG — Officials have decided to renew talks about an outer connector road, an Interstate 95 bypass that would help alleviate congestion.
During a meeting of the Fredericksburg Metropolitan Planning Organization (FAMPO), officials set plans for new discussions regarding the long-planned project that dates back to the 1990s.
MANASSAS — The Broad Run Virginia Railway Express station is about to undergo a radical change.
VRE officials this week will be asked to support a plan to build a 600-space commuter parking lot on the north side of the tracks at the commuter rail station located at the Manassas Regional Airport.
STAFFORD COUNTY — New concrete beams are in place and a concrete bridge deck is ready to be poured.
This past week, crews hoisted into place new concrete that will support a new bridge that will carry the Interstate 95 traffic over Route 17.
FREDERICKSBURG — Fredericksburg area residents will see more construction along the Rappahannock River as work intensifies for I-95 Southbound Rappahannock River Crossing.
Area residents and recreational river users are asked to be alert for that additional construction activity.
WOODBRIDGE — The OmniRide Teen Summer Bus Pass will allow teens to travel around the Prince William County area without relying on their parents for a ride this summer.
The Teen Pass enables those ages 13 through 19 to get unlimited rides on OmniRide Local buses from June 1 to August 31.

QUANTICO — A bus carrying 40 people was involved in a crash on Interstate 95 south.
The bus was one of at least five vehicles involved in the crash at the 147.5-milepost, near the rear entrance of Quantico Marine Corps Base.
FREDERICKSBURG — Officials will reignite talks of an outer connector road, a bypass that would help alleviate congestion on Interstate 95 in Fredericksburg region.
There are several options for an outer connector, with some plans starting the road at I-95 at Massaponnax and taking it west through Spotsylvania County, crossing the Rappahannock River into Stafford County, and then reconnecting to I-95 at Stafford’s Centreport Parkway, near the county’s regional airport.
STAFFORD — The Stafford Board of Supervisors has decided to move forward with plans of a bond referendum in order to help fund transportation projects. Developing a funding plan for transportation is listed as one of Stafford’s 2040 strategic priorities.
County officials say 10 major road construction projects are desperately needed after they reviewed the results of a year-long Comprehensive Road Study. Together the 10 projects cost $180 million based on preliminary estimates.
