Starting at 5 a.m. Monday, Route 3 Business traffic will be detoured through October 2021 for the project to improve bridge linking Stafford County and Fredericksburg.

Recently the City Council decided to utilize surplus motor fuel taxes to be used in various transportation projects that have been included in the Fiscal Year 2020 budget. These taxes are collected at the pump and used to fund Virginia Railway Express (VRE) and the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC OmniRide), of which Fredricksburg is members of both entities.
Police in Prince William County arrested a driver who was wanted in connection with a fatal crash that occurred on an off-ramp in Gainesville.

A police pursuit in North Stafford ended with a vehicle careening through a gate and crashing into a ditch, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office tells us.
On June 15 at approximately 1:30 a.m., Deputy E. Taylor observed a Mitsubishi Lancer speeding on Garrisonville Road in the area of Doc Stone Road. The vehicle then proceeded through a red light onto Salisbury Drive without stopping.
OmniRide will resume operating all routes and will increase service levels on OmniRide Express buses starting on Monday, June 22.
Weekday Express bus services to destinations in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., will run on a Friday schedule, which is one step down from full-service. The increase in service levels is based on improving coronavirus conditions and the Governor’s order to begin reopening the state.
