Plans for a four-lane bypass, an extension of Godwin Drive, were restored at Tuesday’s Prince William Board of County Supervisors meeting.
Supervisors voted along party lines 5-3 to overturn a unanimous vote the Board made a month ago and chose to proceed with designing a four-lane extension of Godwin Drive from Novant/UVA Health Prince William Medical Center in Manassas to the intersection of Route 28 and Compton Road in Fairfax County.

Transportation crews found problems on a two-lane bridge over the Aquia Creek on Rock Hill Chruch Road in Stafford County.

Prince William County leaders are moving forward with an effort to rename Jefferson Davis Highway.
The Board of County Supervisors on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020, will hear details of a plan that would rename 12 miles of the four and six-lane highway, between Stafford and Fairfax county lines, Richmond Highway.
Rich Dalton, who had been serving as an acting chief operating officer for the Virginia Railway Express since November 2019 has been named as its permanent chief.
Dalton was hired by the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission and the Rappahannock Transportation Commission, both bodies oversee the VRE. He replaces former CEO Doug Allen, who stepped down nearly a year ago.
