WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A storm, a power outage, and the sudden presence of the fire department didn’t stop people from getting in a good workout at Powerhouse Gym.

A storm rolled through the Woodbridge area about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday night knocking out the power to Powerhouse Gym on Golansky Boulevard, as well as other businesses next to the gym in the area of Smoketown Road and Prince William Parkway, for about five hours, said gym owner-operator Kelly Kirk.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — One of the largest employers of youth in Prince William County will hold their annual summer job fair today.

The Potomac Nationals will open the gates of Pfitzner Stadium in Woodbridge from 4 to 8 p.m. to greet and interview applicants. The job fair was organdy going to span both Wednesday and today, but it was rescheduled to take place only today due to winter weather.

MANASSAS, Va. — On February 21 shortly before 9 p.m., Irene Coca’s life changed forever when three armed men entered Platanillos Grocery and Jewelry in Woodbridge and shot Coca’s daughter, killing her.

Glenda Marisol Coca-Romero had only been in the U.S. for a year and a half, according to her father. She was a nice girl who loved to talk to customers at the store where she worked.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — It’s been over a week and there are still few clues in the shooting death of 21-year-old Glenda Marisol Coca-Romero.

Romoero was shot and killed on the evening of Friday, Feb. 21, while working at the Platanillos Grocery store on U.S. 1 in Woodbridge. Another 42-year-old woman working alongside her was also shot causing life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital.

Fear not: giant bed bugs, not even small ones, will feast on you this evening at the Board of County Supervisors meeting.

The Washington Post reported this afternoon that the county’s Government Center on Prince William Parkway was the scene of a bed bug infestation. All of this while many residents and some protesters are expected to descend onto the building tonight as county and School Board officials meet to discuss the FY2014 budget.

A fight broke out at Potomac Mills mall just before 7 p.m. Saturday.

Initial reports of gunshots fired during the disturbance were unfounded, as police report this morning they are only investigating an assault that took place at the popular shopping center.
