Governor Terry McAuliffe announced 12 Virginia companies were selected to participate in the Virginia Economic Gardening Pilot Program (VEGPP). The VEGPP, administered by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP), targets second-stage companies. These businesses are growth-oriented and have moved beyond the startup phase by demonstrating a notable increase in revenue or employment. By addressing strategic growth issues, such as identifying new markets and industry trends, refining business models, raising online visibility, and offering access to competitive intelligence, the VEGPP enables high-growth companies to achieve the next level of success.

WOODBRIDGE — About 40 people gathered at Harbor View conference center in Woodbridge at 7 p.m. Thursday for the capstone event of a daylong series of events to discuss the future of a passenger ferry that could, someday, provide commuter service between Prince William County and Washington, D.C.
“We need to use our region’s last unused highway, the Potomac River,” said Prince William Woodbridge District Supervisor Frank Principi, whose long pushed for the creation of a “fast ferry” from Woodbridge to Washington.

Attempted Sexual Assault | Abduction – On September 21 at 4:24AM, officers responded to the area of South Park Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an attempted assault. The investigation revealed the victim, an 18-year-old woman, was in a park in the above area when she was approached by a masked man.
Prince William County School Board Chairman At-large Ryan Sawyers was censured by his Board on Wednesday.
The School Board passed this resolution put forward by Gainesville School Board Member Alyson Satterwhite.
