WOODBRIDGE — (Press Release) Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Firefighters responded to the report of a Commercial Structure Fire at 14135 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Woodbridge. OWL VFD arrived on scene within minutes and reported a fully involved fire at Meadow Farms Nursery.

The fire broke out at 11:04 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2019.

WOODBRIDGE — (Press Release) Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Firefighters responded to the report of a townhouse fire in Woodbridge. Units arrived on scene at 1932 Pohick Creek Court, to find the homeowner fighting a kitchen fire with a garden hose. Crews took over firefighting, ensured there was no remaining hazard and that the fire was out. 

The blaze is under investigation by the Prince William County Fire Marshal’s Office. Two occupants were displaced.  One family dog was killed in the fire another was rescued by the resident. Fire and Rescue units from OWL VFD, Dale City VFD, and PWCDF&R responded to the incident.

WOODBRIDGE — A Star Wars event at Freedom High School put on by Boy Scout Troop 501 has been abruptly canceled, following reports that the high school told the troop they could not have full access to the gymnasium, despite a previous agreement.

The event, Star Wars Days, was scheduled for December 1 and 2 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Freedom High School gymnasium.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY (Press Release) – On November 28 at 2:08PM, officers responded to the Metro PCS located at 17997 Dumfries Shopping Plaza in the Town of Dumfries (22026) to investigate a robbery. An employee reported to police that two unknown males wearing masks, one armed with a handgun, entered the store and demanded money. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the business on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 searched the surrounding area for the suspects who were not located. The investigation continues.

WOODBRIDGE — (Press Release) Firefighters responded to the report of a house fire at 1422 Horner Road in Woodbridge.  Crews arrived within minutes and reported fire in the attic of the house.  The fire was extinguished within minutes.

The Prince William County Fire Marshal’s Office has determined the fire was caused by faulty wiring.  The Red Cross was called to assist four residents who were displaced by the fire.  Fire and Rescue units from OWL VFD, Dale City VFD, and PWC DF&R responded to the incident.
