Greetings, Prince William – Help adults improve their literacy skills!  BEACON is preparing for their next session, August 23 thru November 10. Historic Manassas Visitor Center needs volunteers age 18+ to work 4-hour shifts on weekdays, 9 am-1 pm and 1 pm-5 pm.  Friendly customer service is required, as you will be the face of Historic Manassas.  Duties include answering phones, providing information about Old Town businesses, shops, and restaurants, sharing historical information, and helping with special projects as needed.  Training is provided.  Working for the Visitor Center is a great way to connect to the City and be in the know of what is going on, along with helping out-of-town travelers navigate the downtown businesses.  Please email [email protected] for more information.

Lace-up your sneakers and inspire a group of girls to be strong, confident, and healthy!

Girls on the Run, a youth development program for girls in grades 3 through 8 that creatively integrates running, is looking for volunteer Coaches age 16+ to work with small groups of girls twice a week for the period September 13 through November 21.  Coaches are trained to facilitate an easy-to-follow curriculum over the course of 10 weeks.  No running experience necessary but be prepared to be a positive role model for these young ladies!  To apply as a Fall 2021 Girls on the Run of NOVA coach, please fill out an online application.  Please email [email protected] for more information.

Greetings, Prince William – The Warrior Retreat at Bull Run has a need for volunteer Guest Stay Coordinators (GSC’s).  GSC’s create and manage relaxing and impactful stays for Warrior guests and their families.  GSC’s choose the guest stays they would like to support according to their own schedule, usually one a month.

As a Warrior’s main point of contact, the GSC reviews the Wounded Warrior’s application, creates a customized itinerary, and handles any specific issues to make their stay memorable.

They need Spanish-English Interpreters at the Manassas Mall COVID vaccination site, 8300 Sudley Road, Manassas 20109.  The site is located inside the mall, near Uptown Alley.  Volunteers are needed weekdays, 9 am to 4 pm.  It’s a great way to help our Spanish-speaking residents receive critical information on this life-saving vaccine! Greetings, Prince William – Volunteer Prince William’s Alternative Community Service Program needs 2-3 Spanish/English bilingual volunteers to provide translation services to our community service clients each Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. This is an as-needed, remote, teleconferencing opportunity. Spanish-speaking clients are instructed to phone our office Tuesdays and Thursdays between 1 pm and 3 pm. We will conference with you on the call in order to assist with completing our intake process. Prince William Food Rescue needs Food Rescue Heroes as the program is busy delivering food to both ACTS and SERVE homebound senior citizens. Volunteers are needed county-wide! Home food deliveries are no contact and follow social distancing guidelines.

Prince William Food Rescue is an app-based program enabling volunteers to pick up viable, close to expiration food from supermarkets, restaurants, and food pantries, and then deliver it to a program that can immediately use the food. Just an hour of your time will do much to provide relief for food-insecure families in our community!
