Like most grocery stores in our area today, lines at Aldi on Liberia Avenue in Manassas snaked from the front to the back of the store.
“Please place your milk, eggs, and water on top of your cart when you come through,” one employee shouted as customers queued up to come through the lines.
A snow emergency has been declared in Manassas Park.
Starting 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, drivers cannot park their vehicles along snow emergency routes.

Crashes were “everywhere” on Wednesday night, according to a Prince William County emergency dispatcher.
A sheet of ice crippled drivers making their way home after work. The snow began falling about 5:30 p.m. and lasted about three hours.

The region is under a Blizzard Watch, as a potentially historic winter storm could dump a foot or more of snow on our area.
The watch goes into effect Friday night and lasts until late Saturday night.
