River Road will be closed to through traffic on Thursday, August 20, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Belmont-Ferry Farm Trail will also be closed to through traffic at the River Road crosswalk from Pratt Park to the Historic Port of Falmouth Park.
A Prince William County man is charged with stabbing another man outside a North Stafford Walmart.
The stabbing occurred Aug. 9 in a Walmart parking lot on Garrisonville Road. Investigators said the suspect forced his victim’s car into the parking lot, got of his vehicle, and stabbed the passenger side door and the victim in the arm.

A foot bridge over the Occoquan River provides an expansive view of the town, and a small waterfall.
Officers are currently investigating several instances of child neglect and cruelty in Prince William County.
One incident took place at a home on Springwoods Drive in Woodbridge on the morning of August 16.
Candidates Earnie Porta and Ruth Anderson for Occoquan district supervisor will meet for a debate hosted by Potomac Local on October 16 at 7 p.m.
The candidates are looking to fill the seat currently filled by Supervisor Michael May, who is running for Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney.

Livestock goes hand in hand with county fair.
Fire ripped through three townhomes in Lake Ridge on Monday night.
Emergency crews were called to 2028 Mayflower Drive at 6:51 p.m. Fire crews arrived to find two townhomes heavily involved with fire.
An internal investigation found a Prince William County Police officer was justified when he shot a man inside a Woodbridge home earlier this month.
