She announced her candidacy today in a special election to be held Nov. 8, 2016 to replace Emily Fallon who resigned earlier this year after allegations surfaced that PTA funds at Moncure Elementary School went missing while Fallon was PTA president.
Fire and rescue crews were called to 3602 Quantico Terrace Drive in Triangle about 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Haze filled an apartment building there, and fire crews found the cause of the blaze to be a burnt out fan belt.
We’re told the suspect in a breaking and entering that occurred Thursday in Park Ridge is an adult. The suspect celebrated his 18th birthday on the same day he was charged with breaking and entering, said Stafford sheirff’s spokeswoman M.C. Moncure.
The victim in this case heard someone trying to break into his house about lunchtime on Thursday and called police. The victim chased the suspect outside the house as neighbors looked on, said Moncure. Those neighbors were able to assist sheriff’s deputies in locating the suspect, she added.

Prince William County leaders are again are exploring the possibility of privatizing the management of the county’s public library system.
Gainesville District Supervisor Peter Candland earlier this year called for a study to find out what would need to happen to convert library managers from county employees to agents working for a private firm. He said move could save county taxpayers up to $15 million over the next five years.
