From the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: 

On August 29, 2016 at approximately 8:30pm Stafford County Deputies W.J. McWaters and C. L. Smith responded to a call of a shoplifting in progress at Walmart, located at 217 Garrisonville Road. Upon arrival at the scene the deputies spoke with Walmart’s Loss Prevention Officer. He had detained an adult male who was accused of stealing a coffee maker, radio and freon canisters.

From Prince William police: 

Aggravated Malicious Wounding | Shooting Investigation – On August 30 at 7:07PM, officers responded to the 14700 block of Birchdale Ave in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 17-year-old male juvenile of Woodbridge, was shot in the lower body by an acquaintance near the basketball courts in the above area.

We asked Prince Willaim County Public Schools Associate Superintendent for Communications and Technology Services Keith Imon what could happen if the decades-old revenue-sharing agreement between the County School Board and Board of Supervisors changed:

As early as 1986, there was a revenue share in place. The current approach dates back to 1998 when the two boards created the formal agreement. It has evolved over the years with changes in the percent of the split in county revenue.For FY 2016, the School Division’s share of the revenue agreement is 57.23%, with PWCS receiving $507,302,048.

Manassas City officials agreed to pay $1.9 million for a property that is now home to a trailer park with a failed water and sewer system.

The water and sewer system at the East End Mobile Home Park, located 9021 and 9021A Centreville Road failed. The current owner of the property did not make the needed repairs to the water and sewer system and agreed to sell the property to the city.

From Prince William police: 

Armed Robbery *SUSPECT IDENTIFIED – On August 23, detectives from the Gang Unit identified one of the suspects involved in the robbery which occurred in the 18000 block of Fraley Blvd in the Town of Dumfries on August 18. Detectives obtained a warrant for the arrest of this suspect, identified as Darius Lamont DAVIS. Attempts to locate DAVIS have been unsuccessful.

Good morning Prince William – The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Program recognizes outstanding young people in grades 5-12 for their great volunteer service to the community.
