STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — Rob Wittman declared victory in Virginia’s 1st Congressioanl District tonight.
The Republican took on independent Gail Parker, and policital newcomer Matt Rowe in a race to represent a Congessioanl Disrict that spans from Prince William County to Williamsburg.
STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — Jamie Decatur will take her seat on the Stafford County School Board, defeating challenger and one-time School Board member Dana Reinboldt.
Decatur won with the vote by just over 12 points in the Griffis-Widewater District, with 54% of the vote.

GAINESVILLE, Va. — The suspect now in custody and charged in the death of 26-year-old Lihn Thi Pham had a prior relationship with the man, and both shared a child.
Prince William police today announced the arrest of Bryan Christopher Yu, 33, and charged him with Pham’s death. The news comes one day after the department named Yu as as suspect in the crime.

Early Monday (Nov. 7, 2016), 44 new Virginia State Police troopers reported to their respective Division Headquarters to begin the final phase of training. The 124th Basic Session celebrated their graduation Friday (Nov. 4, 2016), at the state police Academy in North Chesterfield County. Upon receiving their diplomas, the new troopers finished a rigorous 27-week training session. They received instruction in more than 100 different subjects spanning hundreds of hours. Academy training includes such areas as crime scene investigation, survival Spanish, judicial procedures, self- defense, cultural diversity and firearms. Each of the graduates will spend the next six weeks with a field training officer learning his or her new patrol area and day-to-day duties.
