Abduction | Narcotics Investigation – On March 7 at 12:58 p.m., officers responded to the area of Minnieville Rd near Cardinal Dr in Woodbridge to investigate a possible ongoing abduction. A third party caller reported to police that her friend, a 26-year-old woman of Woodbridge, had picked up an unknown man in the above area with her Uber vehicle. (more…)

Stafford, VA – March 8, 2017 – Stafford County Fire and Rescue units responded to a reported motor vehicle crash on the parking lot of Wendy’s at 145 Garrisonville Road this afternoon at 3:43 p.m. The caller then reported that one of the vehicles struck a gas line and that there was an odor of gas noticeable.

First arriving units found two vehicles involved in the crash with one resting on top of the pipe assembly of a 1,000 gallon underground propane tank. Crews simultaneously checked for injuries and deployed a hose line for protection. Due to high gas levels in the area, Wendy’s and several other businesses were evacuated and two lanes of eastbound Garrisonville Road were shut down as a precaution.  (more…)

Robert “Bob” Schneider is the new executive director at the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC). 

Schneider will oversee the operation of PRTC’s commuter and local buses. He replaces interim executive director Eric Marx who told Potomac Local he didn’t apply to be the permanent director.

From Prince William police: 

Reckless Handling of a Firearm | Shooting Investigation On March 7 at 8:08PM, officers responded to the 6100 block of Popes Creek Pl in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived, they made contact with the victim, a 52-year-old woman of Haymarket, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. Officers rendered immediate aid before rescue crews arrived. The victim was flown to a local hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.
