Prince William County – (Press Release) On October 11 at 9:37AM, officers responded to the Oak Hill General Store located at 12203 Kahns Rd in Manassas (20112) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed that an unknown man, later identified as the accused, entered the store, brandished a handgun, and demanded money. The man took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the area in a black Honda Pilot. No injuries were reported. Responding officers observed a vehicle matching the description pull into the parking lot of the 7-Eleven on Dumfries Rd near Purcell Dr where a vehicle stop was conducted. The driver was detained without further incident and was determined to be the suspect involved in the robbery. The vehicle and handgun located were also found have been reported stolen from North Carolina. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Jeremy Chanz-Dorsey WILLIAMS, was arrested.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY – (Press Release) The Prince William County Service Authority will begin work next week to stabilize a sewer line between Tripoli Boulevard and Main Street in the Town of Dumfries.

Due to creek bank erosion, a Service Authority sewer line and manhole in the area have been exposed. The repair project is scheduled to last approximately four weeks.

RICHMOND— (Press Release) Governor Northam announced today that September General Fund revenue increased 4.0 percent from the previous year—largely due to payroll withholding taxes, nonwithholding, and sales tax collections.

The Governor also stated that September completes the first quarter of fiscal year 2019 and is a significant month for revenue collections. Estimated payments from individuals, corporations, and insurance companies are all due in September, along with regular monthly collections in withholding, sales taxes, and other sources.

STAFFORD – (Press Release) A juvenile was taken into custody on Wednesday afternoon by deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office after robbing a local Walmart at knifepoint and absconding with money from the cash register.

On October 10, 2018, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Deputy Elliott Taylor responded to the Walmart located at 217 Garrisonville Road. Upon arrival, a loss prevention employee told the deputy the suspect had fled on foot towards the west side of the store.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY – (Press Release) On October 11 at 9:31AM, officers responded to Toy Trains and Collectibles store located at 7216 New Market Ct in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted burglary. An employee reported that it appears entry was attempted into the business through the front glass door, which was damaged. No entry was made into the business and no property was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On October 10 at 2:22PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 17000 block of Takeaway Ln in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that entry was made into an attached garage through an open door. The garage was rummaged through. No property was reported missing. During a canvass of the neighborhood, video surveillance was recovered showing three black males wearing hoodies and jeans walking around the neighborhood around 2:00AM checking car doors. The investigation continues.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY – (Press Release) On October 9 at 2:30PM, Glen Felix CORUM, wanted for a strangulation that occurred earlier that morning, was located and arrested after he had returned to the residence located in the 15100 block of Lee Hwy in Gainesville.

STAFFORD COUNTY – (Press Release) 7-Eleven, 2337 Garrisonville Road, 10/8. Suspect attempts to shoplift a small box of wine from a convenience store. The manager saw the suspect put the item in her bag without paying. She then apologized, took the item out of her bag, and left it on the counter. Deputies located the suspect in the area and she admitted to concealing the wine, as well as stealing an additional box of wine the clerk hadn’t seen her put in her bag. Sarah Elizabeth Newsome, 30, of Stafford was released on a summons for concealment.

Wawa, 9 South Gateway Drive, 10/8. Suspect arrested after stealing alcoholic beverage from convenience store. Upon arrival, deputies found the suspect sitting near some bushes and identified him as John Bernard Perry, 55, of Fredericksburg. The suspect admitted to stealing the alcoholic beverages. He was taken into custody and incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Perry is charged with petit larceny and public intoxication.

STAFFORD – (Press Release) Three suspects have been arrested in connection with a burglary that occurred in Stafford County at the end of September.

On September 27, 2018, deputies responded to reports of a burglary at a residence on St. Stevens Court. Upon arrival, deputies learned from the homeowners that they had been away from the residence for several hours. When they returned, they immediately noticed the deadbolt on the front door was locked, which is not how they typically secure their residence. They also noticed muddy footprints in the foyer.

STAFFORD — There’s more water in Stafford than officials first thought.

The county’s planning and zoning director Jeff Harvey, Director told the board of Supervisors the county could support the construction of 6,500 new wells. Homes in the county draw from the Piedmont Aquifer, and last year county officials were concerned that aquifer was on the brink of running dry.
