MANASSAS, Va. — At a public meeting held this month about the proposed Bi-County Parkway that would link Prince William and Loudoun counties, Delegate Bob Marshall, R-Prince William, Manassas Park, said he’s not having very much luck hearing back from transportation officials in Richmond after posing questions about the roadway.

NOKESVILLE, Va. — The possibility of severe weather tomorrow is making an unwanted impact on graduation plans at Prince William County’s Patriot High School in Nokesville.

School Principal Michael E. Bishop in a letter told parents and students that Patriot staff is ready to implement a “plan B” for Thursday’s 7:30 p.m. graduation ceremony scheduled at the school’s football stadium. The contingency plan and would see the ceremony moved indoors to a gymnasium, prompting the issuance of tickets that determine who would be allowed to watch the ceremony from the gym and who watches it from inside the school on closed circuit television.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Police say they have their suspect in a photo, and now they need your help in bringing him to justice.

A 21-year-old woman told police was approached by a man at a Walmart store at 17041 Jefferson Davis Highway near Dumfries who exposed himself to her at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday. Police officers arrived on in the area but were unable to find the man after a search of the area.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — New steel is being erected as part of the 95 Express Lanes Project tomorrow night, and that means the southbound ramp from I-95 to U.S. 1 at Woodbridge will close to traffic.

The closure will start at midnight Thursday, June 13 and end at 5 a.m. Friday, June 14. Drivers needed to access U.S. 1 south will be detoured to Prince William Parkway where they will be able to follow signs and head east toward U.S. 1, said Virginia Megaprojects spokesman Steve Titunik.

Virginia democrats now have their ticket set for upcoming fall election.

After the results of yesterday’s primary elections, Virginia Senator Ralph Northam, of Accomack County on Virginia’s Eastern Shore, beat out Aneesh Chopra by nearly 10 points, with 54 % of the vote. A medical doctor, former circuit court judge, and former Commonwealth Attorney, Northam will face Republican E.W Jackson this fall in a race to be the next Lt. Governor of Virginia.

The potential for widespread, damaging thunderstorms that will impact our area is very real, according to a National Weather Service special weather statement. Noting a “significant weather threat” for Thursday, the storms may contain tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail.

MANASSAS, Va. — The annual Wine and Jazz Festival — Father’s Day tradition by the railroad — will return to the Manassas Museum lawn this Sunday.

Festival goers are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket and come out to enjoy jazz musician Marcus Johnson, who lives in Maryland and is the owner of music publishing company, Three Keys.
