STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — Stafford school officials announced the appointment of several new key positions inside the public school system:
Allen Hicks was appointed as the assistant principal at Hampton Oaks Elementary. He is currently a teacher at the school.
NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — Work on an expanded commuter parking lot in North Stafford, next to the popular Stafford Marketplace shopping center, is nearly complete.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — WWE Hall-of-Famer Ted “The Million Dollar Man” DiBiase will make a special appearance at Pfitzner Stadium on Saturday, July 26th. DiBiase will be on hand to take pictures, sign autographs, throw out the first pitch and challenge a fan to give out $10,000.
DiBiase achieved championship success in a number of wrestling promotions, holding thirty titles during his professional wrestling career. Among other accolades in the WWF, DiBiase was the first WWF North American Heavyweight Champion, a three-time WWF Tag Team Champion (with Irwin R. Schyster) and the 1988 King of the Ring. DiBiase also created his own championship, the Million Dollar Championship.
As we approach the doldrums of summer, some food pantries in our area are looking for increased donations of specific staple food items.
Things like rice, pasta sauce and canned fruit are being asked for by those who run the ACTS Food Pantry in Dumfries.

MANASSAS, Va. — In a little corner of Downtown Manassas new campaign headquarters opened Monday night.
It’s a joint election office for Senator Mark Warner who is seeking reelection, and for John Foust, a Fairfax County Board of Supervisors member hoping to replace outgoing Congressman Frank Wolf (R, Va.-10). Both Foust and Warner are Democrats and at their Manassas election headquarters supporters wore t-shirts, stickers, and hats as if the two men were unto themselves a professional football team.
NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — A commercial ambulance collided with two vehicles Monday on U.S. 1 in North Stafford.
The collision occurred at 3:45 p.m., in the 3800 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in the area of El Gran Charro restaurant and Aquia Towne Center, said Stafford fire and rescue spokesman Mark Doyle.
MANASSAS, Va. — A staple business in Old Town Manassas, now called Historic Downtown Manassas, is moving out.
City Tavern has occupied a space in the Olde Town in at the corner of Center and Main streets for the past 20 years. The restaurant announced earlier this month this month it would be moving to the building that used to house KC’s Restaurant, at 9550 Center Street.
MANASSAS, Va. — Police arrested a man they say drove his car into a home early Sunday morning.
