Triangle, Va. — Police chased a man on a bicycle because he was said to be a suspicious person. That man then threw his bike an officer injuring him, according to police.

Police were called at 10:10 p.m. Thursday to the 3800 block of Graham Park Road in Triangle where officers tried to speak with the man, but he fled officers on his bike, according to police reports.

LAKE RIDGE, Va. — Police announced the arrest of a Lake Ridge man suspected of possessing child pornography.

Officials with the Northern Virginia / Washington, D.C. Internet Crimes against Children Task Force, or ICAC, were tipped off to their suspect in August. During an ongoing investigation police obtained a search warrant for their suspect’s home at 4120 Burning Ridge Court off Springwoods Drive in Lake Ridge on August 25. But it wasn’t until Feb. 7 that the suspect was charged with a crime, according to Prince William police documents.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A second man is in custody in connection a burglary that prompted a SWAT team into action last month.

U.S. Marshalls arrested Daniel James Gilliam, 18, of 14718 Birchdale Drive in Dale City. They found him March 5 at a home on Caroline Street in Woodbridge and he was taken in without incident, according to Prince William police documents.


PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — The man charged in a burglary that prompted a SWAT team into action last week faces new charges after a gun was found in his rectum, police said.

Brandon Delonte Braxton, 18, was being held in a Manassas jail in connection to a Feb. 27 burglary on Ladino Court in Woodbridge when jail officers found a small gun inside his rectum, police documents state. Investigators believe Braxton put the gun there prior to his arrest.

STAFFORD, Va. — The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in helping to identify the subject or subjects responsible for spray painting offensive racial slurs on the back of a Stafford church.

On Sunday, March 4, 2012 Stafford deputies responded to Bethel Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church at 135 Chapel Green Road in [south] Stafford for a call of vandalism. Deputies spoke to the Pastor of the church who directed the deputies to the back of the church where they found an offensive racial slur spray painted on the back wall of the church. Indications are that this crime was committed sometime between 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3 and 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2012.

North Stafford, Va. — A Yorktown man is behind bars after investigators said he tried to solicit sex in North Stafford.

A Stafford Sheriff’s Office Detective was portraying a 13-year-old girl on the internet when the suspect contacted the detective during the middle of February and made plans to meet at the Hampton Inn hotel on U.S. 1, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

Manassas, Va. — The alleged East Coast Rapist appeared for a preliminary hearing in court Thursday.

Aaron Thomas, 40, sat and listed to the testimony of two young women who, in 2009, were rapped behind Glendale Plaza in Dale City.
