A 27-year-old cab driver from Woodbridge is charged in the shooting of an Alexandria police officer on Wednesday.
The shooting stemmed from a traffic stop in Alexandria.
Prince William police said a man is charged in the robbery of a Burke and Herbert bank in Woodbridge last weekend.
The man was found in North Carolina, and he’s also wanted in connection to a crime in West Virginia.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — In what is proving to be a busy night for police in Woodbridge, a man was stabbed and a homeless shelter evacuated in two separate incidents.
Police said a man was stabbed on Belfry Road, which is in a neighborhood near the intersection of Smoketown and Minnieville roads about 9 p.m. Monday.
GAINESVILLE, Va. – It appears someone wanted to level up with a new gaming console, and used a knife to take the fun home for himself.
Two gaming systems were stolen yesterday from a GameStop store in Gainesville. Police said the man used a knife in the heist.
MANASSAS, Va. — Police said filed charges against a man they say performed sexual acts on a 13-year-old girl in a Manassas-area hotel.

Francisco Cirilio Vargas-Aquino, aka “Francisco C. Vargas,” and “Miguel,” 48, of Manassas, Va., and Ricardo Avelar Valdez, 47, of Gainesville, Va., have been arrested for their alleged roles in a marijuana smuggling operation based in Northern Virginia that has attempted to smuggle several multi-thousand pound loads of marijuana from Mexico to Prince William County.
