STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — He was first wanted for questioning, but now he is the suspect murder of 59-year-old Roberta Dews who was found dead inside her home Sunday.
Authorities said is an acquaintance of Dews, and who had access to her van, John Douglas Cornell, turned himself into authorities earlier today.

Police said the 53-year-old woman was found by a family member who immediately called 911. That family member had come to her at 21 Kellogg Mill Road to check on her well being, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — A 19-year-old woman faces charges of child neglect after a woman was killed and a 4-year-old boy severely injured in a car crash over the weekend.
Four of the nine people inside the vehicle were ejected when it crashed and had to be flown to a hospital.
MANASSAS, Va. — Police said he took stolen credit cards he got from a car in Manassas to a 7-Eleven and a Walmart and used them repeatedly.
The suspect is identified as Scott Anthony Madden, 22, of 9325 Garst Drive in Manassas. The crime has earned Madden the title of Manassas’ Fugitive of the Week.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Four 16-year-old males now face charges in connection to the death of Kenny Diaz, 18.
Police said the juveniles went with Diaz on the day he was killed, on Saturday, Sept. 21, to 19-year-old Diandra Samuels’ house on Bellona Drive in Woodbridge with the intention of robbing her, after Samuels allegedly robbed their friend on Sept. 12.
