NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — A jeweler in Stafford County met an unwanted, gun toting customer Thursday morning.

The owner of Darian Jewelers at 364 Garrisonville Road in North Stafford, near the Doc Stone shopping center, had just opened his doors just before 10 a.m. when a man entered the store behind him, displayed a gun, and then forced the owner to crack open the safe. Afterward, he bound the owners hands and forced him into the store’s bathroom. The suspect then made off with cash and jewelry.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Someone suspected would-be burglar is rattling dogs at homes at a neighborhood near Quantico when after the person tried to climb through a kitchen window.

A woman inside a home in the 19600 block of Kerill road in Triangle was rattled at 6:44 a.m. Monday when she heard her dog barking and then saw a man trying to climb through her kitchen window. She screamed and the man fled.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Five people now face charges in a string of burglaries in Lake Ridge.

Detectives with the Prince William County Police Department began investigating the burglaries when they began on Feb. 7. After another three burglaries were reported Feb. 10, one in near Quantico and the other in Woodbridge, detectives were able to link all of the burglaries together, according to police spokesman Jonathan Perok.

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — Another arrest in the Stafford sheriff’s new war on heroin was made early Saturday but not before the suspect was hit with a taser weapon.

Investigators conducting surveillance of a home in Stafford County suspected of being a hot bed of narcotics sales saw a man leave the house at 2147 Sebastian Road just of Va. 218 in south Stafford in the late evening hours of Friday, March 28. The man got into his car and deputies stopped him on U.S. 17 in Stafford County.

MANASSAS, Va. — Two small children were assaulted while at a daycare in the Manassas area last month.

A five-year-old girl and 6-year-old girl were both abused while in the care of an employee of the daycare, identified by police as S.M.I.L.E. Day Care at 7171 New Market Court in Manassas, just off Balls Ford Road and Interstate 66. Police began their investigation into the allegations of abuse Feb. 26.
