A 21-year-old woman from Woodbridge died Friday night after she was shot inside a grocery store on U.S. 1

Glenda Marisol Coca-Romero, 21, was shot and killed during a robbery at the Platanillos Grocery and Jewelry at 14342 Jefferson Davis Highway about 9 p.m. A second female employee inside the store was also shot and was later taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

Both women were employees of the business. Nothing was taken from the store during the incident.

A woman ran to a hospital in Lake Ridge to escape a man who forced into a car and assaulted her, police said.

Here is the latest information on the arrest from Prince William police:

Malicious Wounding | Abduction – On February 19th at 9:29PM, officers responded to investigate an assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 12700 block of Hunterbrook Dr in Woodbridge (22192) on February 18th at around 6:00PM. The victim, a 25 year old female of Lorton, reported to police that she encountered the accused, a known acquaintance, after he pulled into the driveway of her residence located Lorton. During the encounter, the accused forced the victim into his vehicle and drove her into Prince William County. While driving in the county, the accused assaulted the victim several times and refused to let her get out of the vehicle. The accused eventually drove the victim to his residence on Hunterbrook Dr where he held her against her will. The victim was ultimately able to leave the residence. At that point, the victim ran on foot to the Sentara Lake Ridge Emergency Room located on Minnieville Rd where police were contacted. The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The accused was located by the police at his residence and was arrested without incident.

A fight broke out at Potomac Mills mall just before 7 p.m. Saturday.

Initial reports of gunshots fired during the disturbance were unfounded, as police report this morning they are only investigating an assault that took place at the popular shopping center.

“Minor injuries were reported after a sole victim was identified. Detectives are working to identify the other parties involved. Initial reports of shots being fired are not accurate,” stated Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.

Trouble apparently found more trouble Monday night in Dale City.

A 16-year-old told police he made arrangements to conduct a “transaction” with another man in the 13200 block of Nickelson Drive. Police say the transaction was legal and then went bad when the man pulled out a taser and tried to unsuccessfully shock the teenager.

An occupational therapist at who worked at the Dumfries Health Center is charged with sexually assaulting a patient.

Sexual Assault – On December 19th [2013] at 2:25PM, detectives from the Special Victims Unit began an investigation into a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred at the Dumfries Health Center located at 3700 Fettler Park Dr in Dumfries (22026) in September of 2012. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 21 year old woman of Woodbridge, was a patient at the center in 2012 and under the care of the accused, an Occupational Therapist. The investigation revealed that the victim was sexually assaulted by the accused on at least one occasion while in his care during that time. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested on January 31st in connection to the assault.

A Woodbridge man is under arrest and is charged with indecent exposure.

Indecent Exposure – On January 27th at 10:28PM, police responded to the Denny’s Restaurant located at 13775 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) for an indecent exposure. Employees of the establishment reported to police that an unknown man, later identified as the accused, exposed himself while seated at one of the tables. Police encountered the accused, who initially departed from the establishment but returned while police were still on scene. Police arrested him without incident.

Investigator think that tissues doused in lighter fluid might have been used in a robbery at a CVS pharmacy on Va. 610.

The pharmacy at the corner of Va. 610 and Onville Road in North Stafford was robbed early Monday when a man jumped behind the pharmacy counter and grabbed Percocet. The pharmacist was assisting a drive-up window customer at the time the man jumped behind the counter, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

The intruder then ran to the front of the store where another store clerk saw the man exit the building and jump into a silver-colored vehicle waiting in the parking lot. That car took off headed north on Onville Road in the direction of a main gate to Quantico Marine Corps Base.
