Murder Investigation *UPDATE – Detectives from the Homicide Unit have determined that this incident was not random and had stemmed from a physical altercation just prior to the shooting. All three victims were known to one another. The relationship between the shooting suspect and the victims is currently being investigated. The second seriously injured victim in this shooting is still hospitalized. This homicide investigation has been classified as a murder. This is Prince William County’s 3rd murder of 2015. Please note the correction to the age of the third victim in the below information previously released this morning. The investigation continues.

From Prince William police: 

Unlawful Wounding – On September 11th at 1:19AM, officers responded to the Marriot Hotel located at 10701 Battleview Pkwy in Manassas (20109) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 25 year old man of Brooklyn NY, reported to police that he was sleeping in one of the rooms of the hotel when the accused, a known acquaintance, entered and the two began to argue. During the encounter, the accused bit the victim just above his right eye. A second occupant of the room was also assaulted by the accused. The parties eventually separated and police were contacted. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

A family was robbed at gunpoint on Saturday, Sept. 5.

The victims — a mother, father, and three children — had just returned from dinner to their home on Bertram Boulevard in the Vista Woods section of Stafford County. It was dark outside, and the father was trying to fit his key into a front door when a man appeared and put a rifle in the face of the two adults, said Stafford sheriff’s office spokesman Bill Kennedy.

The Stafford County Commonwealth’s Attorney, Eric Olsen, has decided not to seek the death penalty in the case against Antoine Johnson.

Antoine Johnson – a 26-year old Maryland man – was originally charged with first degree murder of 29-year old Stafford resident and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) police officer Jeremy Brown.

A Woodbridge woman has been arrested, following a fight, and a high-speed car chase.

According to Prince William police, officers were called to Varsity Drive in Woodbridge for a fight. When an office arrived, they got information that the victim, a 51-year old Woodbridge man, had been stabbed, and 40-year old Woodbridge woman Tina Scales left the scene in a vehicle, stated Prince William police.

Several individuals from Prince William and Manassas have been sentenced in federal court, following a long investigation into the ‘None Trey Gangsters Bloods’ street gang.

According to a U.S. Justice Department release, the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force led the investigation into the group, which led to federal prosecution of 37 area gang members – 18 of which were from Prince William and Manassas.
