From Prince William police: 

Malicious Wounding – On February 21 at 3:12AM, officers responded to the 12800 block of Rannoch Cir in Bristow (20136) to investigate a fight. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 38-year-old man of Bristow, and the accused were involved in a physical altercation which escalated.  During the encounter, the accused struck the victim on the head with a blunt object causing a laceration. The parties eventually separated and police were contacted. The victim and the accused were transported to a local area hospital for further treatment. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

Mahmoud Amin Mohamed Elhassan, 26, of Woodbridge, Virginia, was sentenced today to 11 years in prison and 10 years of supervised release for attempting to provide material support and resources to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), a designated foreign terrorist organization, and making false statements to the FBI.

From Prince William police: 

Sexual Assault Investigation – On February 22, detectives from the Special Victim’s Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred at a home [near] Manassas. The investigation revealed that the victim, an 11-year-old girl, was inappropriately touched on more than one occasion by the accused, an acquaintance, since November 2016. The victim disclosed the incidents to a family member who notified police. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

From Stafford County Sheriff’s Office:

“Stafford, VA. On February 19, 2017 Deputy Vernon Galyen responded to a report of a suspicious person at the Valero located at 620 Cambridge Street. When he arrived at the location, he observed a male subject sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle that was parked at the pumps. He also observed the subject was slouched over onto the passenger seat. There was a white powdery substance on his face and his eyes were closed. (more…)

Murder Investigation *MULTIPLE ARRESTS – On February 22, detectives from the Prince William County Homicide Unit, with the assistance from multiple federal and local law enforcement agencies in Pennsylvania, located and apprehended three suspects wanted in connection to the murder of Christian Alexander SOSA RIVAS.

The victim’s body was located along the shoreline of the Potomac River on January 13. After determining that the suspects were directly involved in the victim’s murder, information was received which indicated they were in the Newtown Township area of Pennsylvania. Prince William County police detectives with local assistance from the Newtown Township Police Department, Upper Merion Township Police Department, Haverford Township Police Department and the Marple Township Police Department, and with federal assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force successfully located and arrested the three suspects, one of which was identified as a juvenile. “Malicious Wounding *ARRESTS & ADDITIONAL SUSPECT IDENTIFIED – On February 18, detectives from the Robbery Unit obtained warrants for a sixth suspect, identified as Devaun Andrew JENKINS, involved in a home invasion which occurred at a residence located in the 7900 block of Deward Ct in Manassas on January 22. On February 21, Tyreek VINING and Deangelo ROBERTSON turned themselves into police without incident. Attempts to located Rashad THOMPSON have still been unsuccessful.

*MISSING ENDANGERED JUVENILE: The Prince William County Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing and endangered juvenile, Mattei Makayla. The investigation revealed that Mattei walked away from her residence located in the 2800 block of Banks Ct in Dumfries (22026) at approximately 6:45AM on February 17th 2017. Mattei left her residence voluntarily and may be in need of assistance which qualifies her as being endangered. Anyone with information on Mattei’s whereabouts is asked to call police at 703-792-6500.
