From Prince William police: 

Aggravated Malicious Wounding *ARRESTOn July 28, officers located the suspect, identified as the accused, who was involved in the shooting which occurred in the 3500 block of Powells Crossing Ct in Woodbridge on July 27. Police received an anonymous tip, which ultimately led officers to the area of Bayside Dr where members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force attempted an arrest. The accused fled on foot and was taken into custody following a brief chase. The investigation into the shooting revealed the accused met the victim to conduct a narcotics transaction. During the transaction, the accused took a firearm belonging to the victim and, when the victim intervened, he was shot in the upper body. After the altercation, the accused fled the area. At the time of the incident, three children of the accused, ages 3, 6, and 7, were inside the vehicle. The children were not injured during the altercation. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Susann Michelle BREWER, was arrested. The children were located with the accused during her arrest and were subsequently released to the custody of Child Protective Services. Additional charges are pending.

Prince William police tell us they will be out on Tuesday, August, 1 in the community meeting with residents. While the department has not told us about any large NNO celebrations, it did encourage neighbors to head outside and gather with each other to build a sense of community.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On July 24 at 8:20 p.m., officers responded to the 7600 block of Aaron Lane in Manassas to investigate a large fight possibly involving weapons. Officers arrived on scene and located a large group in the Barron Park pavilion area.

Strangulation | Domestic Related – On July 25 at 10:33 p.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 3200 block of Berlin Court in Woodbridge to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 19-year old woman, reported to police that she and the accused, a family member, were involved in a verbal altercation, which escalated physically.

Lucky Whitehead of the Dallas Cowboys was recently charged with petit larceny and wanted for failure to appear in court, or so Prince William County Police thought. According to police, an individual arrested for those crimes, not possessing identification verbally identified himself as Rodney Darnell Whitehead, Jr. to include the date of birth and social security number.

Calling is still the best way to contact 911 in an emergency, but in certain situations, a text might be better. The Prince William County Office of Public Safety Communications can now accept text-to-911 emergency messages from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless customers who find themselves needing assistance in Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park. The service should only be used when someone has a physical disability or special need where calling is not possible or when speaking out loud would put the caller in danger.

Indecent Exposure – On July 23 at 5:20 a.m., an officer was patrolling in the area of Rolling Road and Sudley Road in Manassas when a male exposed himself to the officer and made an obscene gesture. When the officer approached the man, it was determined that he was intoxicated. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

Abduction | Domestic Related – On July 23 at 3:30AM, officers responded to investigate a domestic which occurred earlier that morning at a residence located in the 10400 block of Lonesome Rd in Nokesville (20109). The investigation revealed that the victim, a 48-year-old woman of Nokesville, was involved in a verbal altercation with the accused, a family member, which escalated.

Strangulation | Domestic Related – On July 20, Kelly Victoria APPLEGATE, who was wanted for a domestic assault which occurred at an apartment located in the 4200 block of Misty Ridge Dr in Woodbridge on July 14, was located and arrested without incident.
