Armed Robberies – On February 17 at 12:16AM, officers and detectives with the Robbery Unit responded to the 7-Eleven located at 14797 Darbydale Ave in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. An employee reported to police that an unknown man entered the business and approached the counter. During the encounter, the suspect displayed a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the area on foot.

Felony Embezzlement | Arrest of County Employee – On January 7, detectives from the Property Crimes Bureau began an investigation involving equipment reported missing by the Prince William County Department of Fire & Rescue. The investigation revealed a civilian employee, assigned to the Logistics Section located at 9027 Euclid Ave in Manassas (20110), sold County owned equipment through a personal online E-Bay account for personal gain. Between October 2017 and January 2018, the employee is alleged to have sold approximately $20,000 worth of equipment online. The employee is also alleged to have used the County’s prepaid delivery account to send personal items and stolen items to E-Bay purchasers at an estimated $800 expense. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants for the arrest of the employee. On February 14, the accused, Charles Bryan MARCUS, was arrested without incident.

Shooting Investigation *ARREST – On February 13, detectives from the Violent Crimes Bureau received a tip which ultimately led to the identity of the suspect involved in the shooting that occurred in the 8300 block of Sudley Rd in Manassas on January 28. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants for the arrest of this suspect, identified as David Alfredo RODRIGUEZ RAMOS. On February 14, the accused was located in Fairfax County and arrested without incident. A search warrant was subsequently executed at the residence of the accused on Heritage Crossing Ct in Manassas.

Armed Robbery – On February 12 at 9:02PM, officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 10420 Portsmouth Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. The employee reported to police that a male wearing a mask entered the store and brandished a handgun toward the employee. The suspect forced the employee to open the cash register to obtain money before fleeing the business on foot. No injuries were reported. A Prince William County police K-9 and helicopter from Fairfax County Police responded to search for the suspect who was not located. The investigation continues.

Fatal Crash Investigation *DRIVER ARRESTED – Investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit have charged the driver involved in the fatal crash in Gainesville that killed a 38-year-old man of Warrenton on February 12. The accused was located shortly after 1:00PM that afternoon by deputies from the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office walking along a roadway. The accused was not injured and was detained without incident. Speed and alcohol use are believed to be contributing factors in the collision. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Residential Burglary *ARRESTS – On February 6, detectives with the Property Crimes Unit identified two of the suspects involved in a burglary to a residence located in the 1700 block of Potomac View Ave in Woodbridge on February 3. Further investigation determined that a family member of the victim, identified as a 17-year-old female juvenile, conspired with an acquaintance, identified as Melvin Higinio ALVARENGA-RODRIGUEZ, to steal the items reported missing. Following the investigation, detectives with the Property Crimes Unit arrested the suspects without incident. None of the firearms stolen have been recovered. The investigation continues.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On February 6 at 12:30PM, officers responded to a townhome located in the 8800 block of Moat Crossing Pl in Bristow (20136) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed that the accused was cleaning his handgun when he allegedly inadvertently discharged a round that traveled through the wall and passed through two unoccupied bedrooms of the neighboring townhome before landing on the floor. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
