WOODBRIDGE — (Press Release) On September 26, the Northern Virginia/DC Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force concluded an investigation into the possession and distribution of child pornography with the execution of a search warrant at a home located at 11557 Hill Meade Ln in Woodbridge.
During the course of the investigation, which began in July of 2018, the accused was involved in the sharing of child pornography via the internet through an undisclosed peer to peer network. Multiple files of child pornography were determined to have been downloaded by the accused from a computer within his Woodbridge residence.
MANASSAS — (Press Release) On September 28, 2018, at approximately 1:15 p.m., detectives from the Manassas City Police Department were notified of a suspicious event which occurred on the 9200 block of Byrd Dr.
Investigators spoke to a 10-year-old female victim who reported at approximately 6:30 a.m. she was approached by an unknown male in the area of Byrd Dr/Aspen Pl while she was walking to her bus stop.
MANASSAS — (Press Release) On September 26, 2018, at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers responded to the 9200 block of Niki Place for a report of a shooting.
The investigation revealed the victim was arguing with the suspect through an open window in the residence. The argument escalated when the suspect displayed a firearm and began shooting in the direction of the victim.
DALE CITY — (Press Release) On September 25 at 10:59 a.m., officers responded to investigate an attempted robbery that occurred in the area of Dale Blvd and Orangewood Dr in [Dale City] that occurred on September 24 at approximately 5:40 a.m.
The victim, a 24-year-old woman, reported to police that she was walking in the above area when an unknown man approached her. During the encounter, the man brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s wallet.
GAINESVILLE — (Press Release) Upon analyzing evidence collected from the scene, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit believe the striking vehicle involved in the fatal hit & run crash that occurred in the area of Sudley Rd near Catharpin Rd in Gainesville was a 2005-2010, white, 4-door Chrysler 300 with damage to the front driver’s side of the vehicle.
The vehicle struck and killed a Maryland teen shortly before 2:30AM on September 22 before continuing westbound on Sudley Rd. Due to legal restrictions, the identity of the juvenile victim is continuing to be withheld pending the ongoing criminal investigation. GAINESVILLE — (Press Release) On September 22 at 2:29 a.m., investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Sudley Road near Catharpin Road in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian.
The investigation revealed a white, 4-door sedan was traveling westbound on Sudley Rd when the vehicle struck a pedestrian, identified as a 17-year-old male juvenile. The juvenile, a family member, and co-worker were completing a sealcoat job of a driveway at a residence in the above area at the time of the collision.
STAFFORD COUNTY — (Press Release) A woman from out-of-state was arrested on Thursday in the parking lot of the Chick-fil-A on
Route 17 in Stafford County for driving under the influence with two children in the vehicle.
