Plainclothes U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers have targeted and pulled over at least two people in their vehicles and arrested them on immigration charges in Woodbridge and Manassas in recent weeks, a tactic local attorneys say they have never seen before.
Vehicle theft is a problem in Manassas.
The city’s police department has applied for an over $12,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to purchase an additional license plate reading system, which would aid the police department in finding stolen cars.
A traffic stop in Stafford County resulted in the recovery of some stolen items reported missing from a North Stafford neighborhood home.
“A suspect stopped by the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office for several minor traffic violations yesterday was incarcerated for a prior breaking and entering offense. On August 18th at approximately 2:08 p.m., Deputy S.C. Martin conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Garrisonville Road and Jefferson Davis Highway.
Someone left behind their iPhone at a convenience store, and another customer picked it up and claimed it as their own.
That’s when the Stafford sheriff’s office got involved.
Police in Manassas are searching for a mob that robbed and assaulted a man on Saturday morning.

A suspect in the murder of 28-year-old Charlie Davis III, of. Dumfries, which occurred outside the Babylon night club in Woodbridge, is under arrest.
Murder Investigation *ARREST – On August 14, detectives with the Homicide Unit arrested the suspect involved in the fatal stabbing of Charlie DAVIS III which occurred in the parking lot of the Babylon Café located at 3081 Golansky Blvd in Woodbridge on July 24. The investigation revealed that the victim and the accused were involved in a physical altercation in the parking lot of the establishment when the victim was stabbed by the accused. The victim ultimately died from his injuries at an area hospital. The two men were not known to one another. Through the extensive investigation, homicide detectives were able to identify the accused and obtained warrants for his arrest. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Abdur Rahman ROLAND, was located at his home in Woodbridge where he was arrested without incident.
Authorities in Stafford County say a man received threatening text messages containing disturbing photos.
