Police were called to the area of Springwoods Drive and Old Bridge Road in Lake Ridge at 6:09 a.m. today to investigate a two-vehicle crash.

Authorities found that the driver of a 2011 Ford Explorer made a left turn from Glenridge Drive onto Springwoods Drive, traveling southbound in the northbound lanes. The driver of the Ford continued in the wrong direction until the vehicle collided with the driver of a 2011 Toyota Camry, who was traveling northbound on Springwoods Drive, police state in a press release.

Authorities say they now have a man in custody who is tried a grab a woman outside of a North Stafford Target store.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest on Tuesday, October 21. It said that on October 1 at 4:21 p.m., deputies were called to the store at 1090 Stafford Market Place for a report of an attempted abduction.

On Oct. 8, 2020, Prince William police – in a joint investigation with the Northern Virginia Gang Task Force (NVGTF) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Washington Field Office’s Safe Streets/HIDTA Task Force-Northern Virginia – conducted an operation which charged 12 suspected gang members in connection to criminal narcotics trafficking and to the murders of four men in Prince William County in 2019.

All suspects were members of, or are otherwise connected to, the “Sitios Locos Salvatruchas” clique of the transnational criminal street gang MS-13. Based on the success of this operation, law enforcement authorities were able to dismantle this clique, which was shown to have violent tendencies including murder, and which targeted Hispanic residents through narcotics distribution.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to a Walmart in North Stafford after a store employee said someone was seen clearing off the shelves in the electronics section of the store. This, and other  incidents, are included in today’s Stafford sheriff’s office report:

100 block of Butler Road, 10/10, 6:39 p.m. The victims reported they left their vehicle parked in the area at 4:15 p.m. When they returned to the vehicle at 6:20 p.m., they discovered the vehicle’s back passenger window had been broken. Two purses containing cash and credit cards were reported stolen.

Prince William police report a masked man smashed a business on Sudley Road outside Manassas. The details of this incident, and others, are included in today’s report from the Prince William County Police Department:

Commercial Burglary – On October 9 at 6:01AM, officers responded to the Smokey Shope Hookah & Tea House located at 8128 Sudley Rd. in Manassas (20109) to investigate an alarm activation. Upon arrival, officers observed the glass front door was damaged. Video surveillance footage revealed that a masked man smashed the glass door before entering the business. The suspect was then observed fleeing on foot prior to police arrival. Paper products and an undisclosed amount of money were reported missing.

A Stafford resident fell victim to an internet scam, but through the efforts of Stafford County Deputy B.A. Talbot, the property was recovered.

On June 11, a Stafford resident contacted the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office to report a fraud.


Police were called on Monday, October 4 at 7:25 p.m. to the intersection of Beechtree Lane and Fern Place in Dale City to investigate a stabbing.

The 17-year-old male victim reported to police that he approached an unknown male juvenile and engaged in a conversation. At some point during the encounter, a verbal altercation escalated when the accused struck the victim.

Stafford sheriff’s deputies were called to a report of an assault on Ballantrae Lane just off Hope Road on Sunday, October 4 at 9:02 p.m.

Deputy R.M. Connelly said the suspect was inside of a car when arrived, and was trying to flee the scene. The deputy was able to stop the suspect, according to a Stafford sheriff’s office spokeswoman.
