MANASSAS, Va. -- The owners of Smoothie King in Manassas plan to expand into Prince William County.
Franchise owners Jamie and Tim Smith plan to open a new location in Bristow Center at the corner of Nokesville and Linton Hall roads, and another location in Haymarket.

HAYMARKET, Va. -- Kimberly L. Murray will serve as the new Town Manager in Haymarket.

The Town Council unanimously confirmed Murray’s appointment at the Town Council meeting on Monday, November 7 after a several months’ search and receiving over thirty applications. Ms. Murray will assume the office on November 14, 2016.

BRISTOW, Va. -- Fire and rescue crews were called to 9856 Lucky Penny Court in Bristow this morning for a burning shed.
Crews found the shed ablaze in a backyard, about 20 feet away from home, at 10:13 a.m.
Crews extinguished the blaze. No injuries were reported.

HAYMARKET, Va. -- A new park in Haymarket has a new name.
The Town Council on November 9 voted unanimously to name a new park on the east side of town, located at 14710 Washington Street, Haymarket Community Park.
Town officials three months ago solicited names for a new five-acre park that will be built on the old Harrover property. Town staff received 1,200 votes on its website, social media pages, and via text message from residents who wanted a say on what the new recreation space should be called.

GAINESVILLE, Va. -- The suspect now in custody and charged in the death of 26-year-old Lihn Thi Pham had a prior relationship with the man, and both shared a child.
Prince William police today announced the arrest of Bryan Christopher Yu, 33, and charged him with Pham's death. The news comes one day after the department named Yu as as suspect in the crime.
She was shot and killed Sunday night in the Virginia Gateway shopping center in Gainesville.

GAINESVILLE, Va -- Police identified the suspect in the fatal shooting of a 26-year-old woman at Virginia Gateway shopping center on Sunday night.
Police today identified the victim as 26-year-old Linh Thi Pham.

GAINESVILLE, Va. -- A woman was shot in the Virginia Gateway shopping center tonight.
The shooting happened at 5:35 p.m. in a parking lot between a Hampton Inn hotel and a Five Guys restaurant in the 7300 block of Atlas Walk Way.
One woman suffered serious injuries to her upper body and was flown to a local hospital for the treatment of injuries that appeared to be life-threatening, according to Prince William police spokesman Nathan Probus.
