Prince William County has established itself as an important part of the economic landscape of the Greater Washington D.C. metropolitan area and Northern Virginia. On Tuesday, January 3rd at 2:30 p.m., fire and rescue crews were dispatched to a structure fire in a two-story single family home located in the 14300 block of Lindendale Road in Dale City.
On Sunday, January 1st, at 2:06 a.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a structure fire in a two-story single family home located in the 13000 block of Kerrydale Road in Woodbridge.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed fire showing from the rear of the home. A request for a second alarm was issued due to reports of people trapped in the structure. As firefighters attacked the fire, the homeowner arrived on scene and confirmed all occupants were safely out of the home except for their pets. During extinguishment, firefighters located and rescued the owner’s three dogs in which one sustained minor injuries.

Malicious Wounding | Shooting Investigation– On January 1 at 1:50AM, officers responded to investigate a shooting which occurred in the 15400 block of Wheatfield Dr in Dumfries (22025) earlier that evening. The investigation revealed that the accused was in the above area when he was involved in a verbal altercation with several subjects in a vehicle. During the encounter, the accused brandished a handgun and shot into the vehicle striking one of the occupants, a 19-year-old man of Woodbridge, in the upper body. The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. Following the investigation, detectives with the Violent Crimes Bureau obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused. The accused was located and arrested without incident at his residence later that day.

After all the holiday festivities are over and the finery has lost its luster give your Christmas tree, wreath and other cut greenery another life as compost, mulch or habitat. Strong Armed Robberies *ARREST – On December 27, detectives with the Robbery Unit identified the suspect involved in a series of “snatch and grab” robberies which have occurred in the eastern part of Prince William within the last several months. Following the investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for the arrest of the suspect, identified as Ricky Alphonso ELLERBE. Detectives with the Street Crimes Unit and Robbery Unit arrested the accused without incident at his residence later that afternoon. A search warrant was subsequently executed at the residence. Additional charges are pending. The investigation continues.
LAKE RIDGE, Va. — Sweeto Burrito will expand in Prince William County.
Two new locations — one at Dillingham Square in Lake Ridge and the second at Potomac Festival in Woodbridge, across from Potomac Mills mall — should be open by February, said Sweeto Burrito Virginia Director of Operations Micheal Wetherill.
