Good morning Prince William – Consider joining The Out of Darkness Walk to support suicide prevention needs walkers on Sunday, September 18th at the Harris Pavilion. Check-in is 11 am and the walk begins at 12:30 pm. Please register to walk or support one of the many walkers already registered at: afsp.org.

Good morning Prince William – Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 29th to volunteer with the Boy Scouts for a super fun event at Camp William B. Snyder in Haymarket.

Volunteers will be asked to pretend they are survivors and victims of an airplane crash and a school bus crash so the scouts can practice their first aid skills. This is the ultimate get dirty, act out and even sacrifice your old clothes if you let the kids cut your pants or shirts to expose the pretend injury.

Good morning Prince William – The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) needs volunteers age 55+ to present a fun disaster preparedness program to 4th-grade students throughout the community. The program will teach the kids critical life skills to keep them safe when they are home alone. It’s so easy and doesn’t take much time out of your day. Training provided! Benefits also include additional insurance, a mileage stipend, recognition events but most importantly teaching our kids life skills. Please email Jan at: [email protected] to learn more. 

· We’re pleased to present the volunteer management training series again this fall. This comprehensive 5 part program will give you all the skills needed to manage your volunteers. The series begins Wednesday September 14th from 9am-12noon. Topics include Understanding volunteers, recruiting and matching skills, orienting and training, supervision and evaluating for improving results.  Good morning Prince William – You don’t want to miss the next free concert at Battlefield Garden Center this Friday August 19th, 6-10pm. This is a fun family friendly event with moon bounce and activities for the kids, live music by the No Pressure Band and local crafters. Food drinks available for sale that all benefit the Un Trim A Tree Holiday Gift Program for needy kid’s right here in our community. Cheers to Battlefield Garden Center for their sponsorship of this wonderful summer concert series. The center is located at 4641 Sudley Road, Catharpin, Va- see you there!

· Catholic Charities has an urgent need for volunteers to teach English classes in Manassas, Woodbridge and Dale City. You only need to do one class a week.
