· Good morning  – Manassas Neighborhood Services needs volunteers for the Color Vibe 5K Run on Saturday September 13th. This event is from 6:30am-1pm at Osbourn High School. Duties include packet pick-up, water stations and rout coordination. Volunteers are also need on Friday from 11am-6pm for packet pick-up at the Harris Pavilion. · ACTS in Dumfries is looking for good volunteer listeners to help out with their crisis intervention hotline. This wonderful service has been around for a long time and extremely beneficial to so many individuals. You will receive a super training to give you all the skills needed. Secondly, please mark your calendars for Saturday October 18th for the Annual 5K I Walk to benefit services to the homeless. This year’s event is at Pfitzner Stadium at 10am. Good morning – It’s back to school time at SERVE so I have two super projects for you- first Please stop by the Philadelphia Tavern in Old Town Manassas on Thursday August 14th from 5-8pm to enjoy great prices on drinks and appetizers and lots of fun between 5-8pm and bring non-perishable food for their food pantry. Things are very sparse this time of year so please do you best to help out those less fortunate. Secondly, volunteers are needed the following week on August 19th from 3-6pm and August 20th from 9am-1pm to distribute backpacks to the kids with new school supplies. · Historic Manassas has lots of fun events and volunteers are needed to help! The first event is the Civil War Weekend on Saturday August 23rd. Volunteers are needed to be parade marshals in the morning and Bourbon servers and checking ID’s from 5:30-8:15pm. The next event on Saturday September 13th for the Bands, Brews and BBQ Festival. Volunteers are needed for the morning shift of 10:45am- 2:45 to pour beer, check ID’s, assist with ticket sales or checking the VIP tent Id’s. They also need these exact same jobs done for the afternoon shift of 2:30-6pm. These events are super fun so please call Kristina at (703) 361-6599 for more info.

It is National Health Center Week and the Greater Prince William Community Health Center will hold its 6th annual celebration under the tents at Ridgewood Health Center between 8am and 2pm. • The ladies of the Prince William Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated will host their third annual Crab Feast Fundraiser on Saturday, August 16 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the VFW in Dale City. The price is $65 and includes all you can eat crabs and a plentiful buffet with fried flounder, Wing Dings, corn-on-the-cob, Red Bliss potatoes, baked beans, Cole slaw, green salad, dinner rolls and corn bread.
